Meaning

to build up; to establish/ to form; to become (a state) / to accomplish; to achieve; to succeed in​ / to change into / to do; to perform / to intend to; to attempt; to try

Example:

仮にも為す価値があるものならば何でもよくなす価値がある。

Whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well.

為すことができる者が為し、為すことができないものが教える。

He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches.

もっと経費を抑えろよ。入るを量りて出ずるを為す、ということを知らんのかね。

We have to cut business expenses here. Haven't you ever heard of looking at how much you're getting before you start spending?

Note：なす is a formal transitive verb that works similar to する
