Meaning


once, for a short time; briefly; temporarily


彼女はいったん話始めると止めどがない。

Once she starts talking, she is hard to stop.


彼女はあまりしゃべらないが、いったん口を開けと弁が立つ。

She doesn't talk much, but once she does speak she is eloquent.


君はいったん始めたら、続けなけらば行けません。

Once you begin, you must continue.
